This thesis work is carried out in the department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management (IГT). This constitutes a final thesis for the Master of Technology in Project Management and was completed during the spring semester 2011 at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
This thesis has been equally a challenging and rewarding experience for me personally. Academically, I had been able to concentrate on a topic of big interest in the discipline of project managing. Personally, I actually learned to deal properly with difficulty and uncertainties in jobs in order to achieve my goals. I are very pleased to acquire had the chance to culminate my studies with such a great learning experience.
I would like to thank my own supervisor Analysis Scientist Anandasivakumar Ekabaram, Siva, for his time and personality to guide me personally through every part that encircled my job. I greatly value his knowledge and private reflections distributed to me through our conversations; these are very much reflected throughout this thesis. Many thanks to my director Associate Professor Tim Torvatn for his guidance which will helped me established the focus and shape the approach of my thesis work. My spouse and i also say thanks to Professor Ole Jonny Klakegg for showing me his knowledge. His words stressed the importance in the topic with this thesis and strengthen my interest in it. Stock portfolio Management of Research Projects inside the Public and Private Sectors

The purpose of this thesis is always to gain a broader understanding on how the portfolio administration of studies is done in practice in both public and sectors. To do this, information is gathered coming from interviews with representatives from one public and one personal organization and document evaluation from another private firm. The evaluation of both theoretical and practical info provides an summary and a deeper knowledge of the process in these public and private settings. This thesis is divided into seven sections. Section one involves the launch (Chapter One) and difficulty formulation (Chapter Two). Your research model and research concerns are shown. Furthermore, the importance and limits of the thesis are referred to. The second section sets the framework to get the theoretical background (Chapter Three). This section presents fundamental definitions and background theory on relevant concepts associated with the main topic of the thesis. From this theory the types that will support the analysis and dialogue are sketched and selected.
Section three introduces the methodology strategy used for your research process. Initial, a general introduction to the research procedure is shown. Then the chosen methodology is usually introduced together with the tools used to assist this process. Finally, there is also a description from the research instruments, interview and document evaluation, used and an introduction for the interviewees and the nature of their organizations.
